Miss Betty Mary Lauritsen passed away on Sunday July 24, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Betty was born
at her parent’s home in the Gilby District. Her schooling was at the Andrews School, a walking distance
of three miles, (five kilometres) or, on horseback, or horse and cart. Betty had a hard work ethic while at
home, and later, when she moved to Red Deer, where she worked over the years house cleaning. She will
be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Annie Luoma, Mabel Lund, Edith Lauritsen, Esther Mockford and
her brother, Hans Lauritsen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Elizabeth, and
Tim Fargey. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Julia Lauritsen, and her brothers, John
and Martin. At Betty’s request, no Funeral or Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired,
