Mrs. Joyce Street (nee Flynn) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the age of 91 years. Joyce was born in Coronation, Alberta on May 27, 1933. She was raised on the farm in Czar, Alberta. Joyce graduated from the Vermillion Agriculture College with a degree in Home Economics. She taught tumbling in Czar and was active in her community through volunteering and an overall handy woman, taking on any project and performing to perfection. Examples… wood finishing, horse husbandry, painting and carpentry. Joyce married the love of her life, Melvin Street (1956). She then moved to the Street farm where she raised three children, managed the farm, and raised and bred horses. Joyce loved spending time with her extended family playing cars and socializing. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel Raymond Street of Red Deer, her daughter, Luella Eileen (Michael John) deCarle of Fletcher, North Carolina, USA, her grandchildren, Bannie Declan Stepp of Landrum, South Carolina USA, Jesse Nolan (Julia Faith) Stepp of Columbus, USA, her brothers, Gerald Stanley Flynn of Wetaskiwin, and John George Flynn of Czar, and her sister, Gwendolyn Joan McNabb of Penticton, British Columbia. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Edgar Street, her son, David Melvin Street, and her brothers, Thomas Leroy Flynn and Phillip Arthur Flynn. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Amisk Hall, 4804 – 53 Street, Amisk, Alberta on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if desired, Memorial Donations in Joyce’s honor may be made to the Canadian Lutheran World Relief, 400, 185 Carlton Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3J1 Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
