Mr. Richard (Dick) Paul Godin of Olds, Alberta passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the age of 92 years. Dick was born in 1933 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta where he lived with his parents and siblings until joining the Army. He served in the Korean War in 1952-53. When Dick returned from Korea, he began a lifelong career working with the gas companies in both Alberta and British Columbia until his retirement. When Dick returned to living in Alberta after many years of residing in Trail, BC, he lived with his sister and nephew. Daily visits to the local Smitty’s were his favourite past time. Dick was a supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion’s and in 2024 Dick received a “Quilt of Valour” from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #105 Olds, Alberta to thank him for his service. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his sister Geraldine Frasch, his nephew John Davis, his stepsons Gary and Greg Nelson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Nelson, stepson Randy, and many other loving family members.
