Mr. David Alma Glasier passed away at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail, Alberta on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the age of 88 years. David was born on June 15, 1933 at home, southeast of Federal, Alberta to Alma and Leona Glasier. He was the fourth child. David had three brothers and 5 sisters. He started driving truck at an early age, and drove for over fifty-years, working for himself, and various employers hauling cattle, gravel, bales and gas. On January 5, 1953 he married Wilma Schmidt. They had three children, Darlene, Richard and Don. In about 1958 they settled on a farm north of Coronation and lived there until health issues forced him to leave the farm.
David will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Darlene (Dwaine) Saar, his two sons, Richard (Christine) and Don (Pam), his grandchildren, Nathan (Susanne), Stephen, Danielle (Kevin), Ryan (Laura), David, Jennifer, Sheena (Greg), Trisha (Steven) Kyle (Jenna), his seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Bill (Marietta), his two sisters, Faye (Alan) Shearer and Arlene Fisher, sister-in-law, Sally Glasier, brother-in-law, Pete Schmidt and sister-in-law Betty Schmidt as well as numerous nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Wilma, his parents, Alma and Leona, two brothers, Edward (Edna) and George, his three sisters; Edith (Archie) Laird, Rose (Archie) Sorge Janet Macaig and his brother-in-law Wayne Fisher, his in-laws Henry Sr. and Nettie (Emily), brother-in-law Henry Jr. Schmidt, sister-in-law, Jean (Winton) Wangsness, sister-in-law Annette (Ronald) Barnes. Honoring David’s wishes, no funeral will be held. If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the Coronation Cemetery Fund.
