Inge Renate Edeltraut Friedrich (Stallmann), passed away peacefully on Saturday May 11th, 2024, with her family by her side at the Michener Extendicare in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 90.
Inge was born on June 29th, 1933, in Krasnik, Poland to Heinrich and Wanda Stallmann. As a young girl, Inge ended up having to flee Poland due to the war with her mother and two small brothers. She immigrated to Canada with her family arriving on June 25, 1952. Their journey ended once they reached Alberta. A year later Inge met and fell in love with Josef Friedrich, who also immigrated from Germany. They were married on June 20th, 1953. Building their family and life together, they were blessed with six children. Inge and Joe resided mainly in southern and central Alberta. Inge had a deep love of gardening and had a green thumb we would all love to have. She also had a tremendous love for her family. As a mother, grandmother, great and a great-great grandmother, she left a mark on us all.
Inge is survived by her children: Rose (Ed) Way, Virginia (Ken) Morison, Roy (Barb) Friedrich, Lori (Bruce) Kemmere, her brother Fred (Maureen), sister Vicki and sister-in-law (Judy). Inge is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Josef and her two sons Joey and Jimmy. Inge was also predeceased by her son in law, Ken (Hall) and her siblings, Walter, Heidi and Klaus.
The family will be holding a private memorial at a later date. Any donations in memory of Inge can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of the donor’s choice.
