It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marie Armelia (nee Brulotte) Gibbon with her daughter, Lisa by her side, at Sunset Manor, Innisfail, Alberta, on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Marie was born in Golden, British Columbia and lived her young life in southern BC. She married Gordie Gibbon in 1951, they had daughters, Wendy and Gloria, while living in Salmo, British Columbia. They moved to Pine Point, North West Territories in 1966; and after that move, they had another daughter, Lisa. Marie loved nothing more than socializing, ceramics, friends and life in the north. They transferred back to Salmo, where Gordie passed away. She then moved herself and Lisa to Innisfail, to be around Gloria’s family and remained there to this day. Marie then met Joe Amel, and they spent many wonderful years together. They enjoyed dancing, camping, being snowbirds, painting and motorcycling. Marie especially loved the Seniors Centre, and was an avid bowler; she also loved a good game of horseshoes. Throughout her life, Marie loved to sew for her family and others. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lisa (Tom) Hendrickson and Wendy (Bob) Bouchard; her grandchildren, Darcy (Nicole), Darren (Kristie), Dianna (Todd), Daniel, Blaine (Caryn), Carmelle (Bow), Garnett (Kyrin), Shylo (Brett), Hannah and Katie and her twelve great grandchildren, Janessa, Gabe, Rayan, Katlyn, Carter, Capri, Carsen, Trent, Jordy, Parker, Ryker and Winston. She will also be sadly missed by her son-in-law, Warren Blair, her sister, Mallie Glasser and her sister-in-law, Doreen Fleming. She also leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her loss at Salmo, Pine Point and Innisfail. Marie was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Blair, her parents, Homer and Viola (Debuc) Brulotte, her first husband Gordie Gibbon, her special partner, Joe Amell, her sisters, Sylvia Vansco, Harriet Brulotte, Josephine Herdman and Callie Tarron and a brother, Johnny Brulotte. Marie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Staff at Sunset Manor, for the wonderful care given to Marie and her family.
