Mrs. Lucille Lussier of Olds, Alberta passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, Alberta, on Sunday August 16, 2026 at the age of 94 years.

Lucille was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on July 31, 1932, the fifth child in a family of eleven. She grew up in Haywood, Manitoba, where she attended school up to grade 8, finishing her schooling in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba.

Due to a shortage of teachers in 1950 Lucille took a six-week Teacher Training Course that was offered. She then taught in a country school for one year. After a year of Normal School she started her career by going to teach in St. Rose do Lac for four years. There she met her husband, Eric Lussier. They married in 1956.

During their early years together they followed the “oil patch” to Saskatchewan and British Columbia, finally settling in Olds in 1960

In 1963 Lucille returned to teaching at Olds Elementary School, where she taught for twenty-four years.

Lucille’s favorite retirement pastimes included: enjoying her grandchildren, volunteering, keeping busy with crafts, and especially time spent playing the piano. She enjoyed outdoor life with Eric and the family.

Lucille leaves to mourn her three daughters: Gisele, Jacqueline and Stella, her ex son-in-law Ed Pearson, six grandchildren: Matthew, Nicole, and Eric Pearson, Garret (Samantha) North, Alex North, Jeremy Lussier (Crista) and son Hayden.

Also Left to mourn are three brothers: Louis, Joseph & Gerry (all reside in Winnipeg)

Lucille was pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years in 2002, two infant children (Susanne and Ronald), and brothers: Paul, Emile, and Denis and sisters: Florence, Georgette, Rita and Louisa.
