1932 ~ Mrs. Alice Gean Rowland (Enzie) ~ 2022 "Her two favourite words were LOVE and HOME."

Mrs. Alice Gean Rowland, passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, surrounded by her family, and went home to be with Jesus, on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the age of 89 years. Alice was born on November 28, 1932 in Three Hills, Alberta, to Jacob ‘Jake’ and Laura Enzie. She grew up in Olds, Alberta. Alice married Wilbert Zimmerman on September 23, 1950. Wilbert and Alice had two sons, Garry and Barry and one daughter, Twilla. Alice taught Sunday School at the Olds Baptist Church. She was very involved with Church and Community Events. Alice loved helping others and she didn’t know how to complain, just love. Wilbert passed away on November 7, 1989. After living in Olds for forty-two years, Alice moved to Red Deer, Alberta and married William ‘Bill’ Rowland on September 14, 1991. Alice and Bill moved to Penticton, British Columbia; and lived above the Okanagan Lake enjoying her rose garden, hummingbirds and visits with family. After ten years in Penticton, they moved back to Red Deer. Alice was a devoted wife, who loved spending time with family and celebrating life, especially when there was ice cream. Her two favourite words were LOVE and HOME. Alice will be forever remembered by her loving family, her husband, Bill Rowland, her son, Barry Zimmerman of Victoria, British Columbia and her daughter, Twilla (Mark) Welch of Vancouver, British Columbia; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Alice was predeceased by her first husband, Wilbert Zimmerman, a son, Garry Zimmerman on September 29, 1994, a brother, Wesley Enzie and a sister, Barb Howarth. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Olds Cemetery, Olds, Alberta at 3:00 p.m. As per Alice’s request, “Kindly refrain from sending me flowers.
