Mr. Fred Embury passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the age of 88 years. After moving to Red Deer in 1962, Fred successfully started and operated Civic Tire for over forty years. He felt great joy in helping others reach their dreams in business. Fred will be missed at his favorite stomping grounds at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club, where he golfed, played cards, and had many laughs with his friends. His putting woes are finally over. We will miss him; he was a great friend, father, grandfather and mentor, and he lived a great life. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his children, Ken and his wife, Jacquie, his daughter, Debbie, his son, Ron and his wife, Ursula, his daughter, Lisa and her partner, Tony; his seven grandchildren and his two great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Bob and Jim and his friend and companion, Dorothy. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife, Florence and his brothers, Dave and John. A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be planned for next year. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Fred’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com or to The Salvation Army Church at www.salvationarmy.ca.
