BONDY, Carl Gordon
1932 ~ 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mr. Carl Gordon Bondy announces his passing at Sundre, Alberta on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the age of 94 years. He was surrounded by loved ones and family, supporting him in his preparation and transition to his next journey. Carl had a large following, and will be remembered, by the many whose lives he touched while building long lasting friendships wherever he traveled through his 94 years. He was a man of many skills both self-taught and/or learned by watching his mentors whether it was welding, construction, mechanics, laying concrete, veterinary skills, ranching, farming, the oil industry and being a leader and teacher passing on those same skills. Together arm and arm over 74 years, Carl, along with Alix by his side raised their family, choosing quality of life often over finance. He loved his life farming and ranching, and the lessons he, Alix and his children learned through the beauty of hard work and nature. Carl was beyond his years raising his children telling them that they could achieve any dream, if they tried hard enough, despite the social norms at that time. Together as a loving team, Carl with Alix, taught by example, not only his family but also those around them the value of “bounce” living life on life terms, taking pride in their achievements and learning lessons of loss in whatever path one chose, love, kindness, self-respect and respect of others. Carl leaves behind his four children, daughters Colette and her husband Keith, Jacalyn and her husband Johnny, Sandy and her children Stephen, Sean and Katie (deceased), and son Ralph and his significant other Eva. As well as Alix’s surviving sister Jocelyn and husband Howard; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great -great grandchildren (who referred to him as Supper Grandpa). He was pe-deceased by Alix Bondy, his loving wife of 74 years; his parents Ralph and Beva Bondy and siblings Joe, Jean, Marie, Evelyn, and Helen; Alix’s parents Robert Bruce and Marion Young and her siblings, Jean, Bruce, Roberta, and Bill. Carl was very loved by his family and friends and will be forever held in the hearts and memories of many. He leaves a large space in this universe and will be truly missed.
