Irene Caryl Dickau of Didsbury passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 90 years at the Aspen Ridge Lodge in Didsbury. Irene was born in Didsbury, AB and then moved with her family to Medicine Hat for some of her younger years. She moved back to the town of Didsbury where she worked at the Royal Bank. She met and married Ken Dickau and they started a family. She left the bank to help with the family business “Dickau Electric & Refrigeration.” Irene was a founding member of the Didsbury Royal Purple, Lodge #317. She volunteered many hours catering and volunteering at other functions. This was one of her many ways to give back to the community. She was happily married for 46 years and lost her husband to cancer in 1997. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Esther; sisters Millie and Myrtle; brothers Hank, Lloyd and Earl as well as her grandson Alfred. She is survived by her sons Doug, Barry (Norma), John; grandchildren Kimberley (Trevor) Wynnychuck, Charlie (Ashley) Dickau, Jerry (Tamra) Dickau, Rob (Stephanie) Dickau, Allen (Jamie) Dickau; great-grandchildren Taylor, Brooklyn, Sierra, Jacob, Landon, Lucas, Erika, Copper, Mason, Corbid, Kylie, Kohl and Kinlee. A service will be held on July 6, 2022 at 1 pm at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church, Didsbury, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Aspen Ridge Lodge.
