Mrs. Laurette Simone Tremblay passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Laurette was born in Cochrane, Ontario on June 7, 1931. Laurette and her husband, Raymond met when she was sixteen, and at the moment they locked eyes, they knew they’d be together forever. She had ten beautiful children. Laurette was a homemaker, mémère, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Although, in the beginning, she could burn water, she became an amazing cook. Laurette was a very accomplished sewer, painter, quilter, knitter, crocheter, singer, piano player, and rosary maker for the missions. She was a member of the Toast Masters, CWL and an advocate for CNIB. She adored the smell of newborn babies, the smell of laundry off the line, the jitter bug, tap dance, and a good laugh. She took pride in setting a beautiful table and enjoying company. Laurette will be lovingly remembered by her children, Raymond Jr., Guy (Laurie), Hélène (Rick Coyle), Jeannette (Daryl Roberts), Paul (Heather), Rosane (Jim Butz), Claudette Amos, Denis (Eleanor), and Jacqueline (Larry Jensen); her twenty-two grandchildren; her forty-four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Pierre Duguay of Melfort, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Laurette was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Eugène Tremblay, the love of her life. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 am.
