Colleen Graham passed away peacefully at her home at Inglewood Optima, Red Deer, in her 95th year on Sunday, May 31, 2026 surrounded by her family who were grateful to be with her in her final days. She was born November 12, 1931, to Lloyd and Irene Mitchell at High River, Alberta. In 1946, the family including younger sister, Marion, moved to their new farm east of Joffre. Colleen finished high school in Red Deer and then worked as a correspondence school supervisor and then at Eatons. In 1950, she married Don Graham of the Brookfield district where they farmed and raised a family of three. She is survived by her children, Marlene, Audrey and Ross Graham; three grandchildren, Kayla Marquis (Justin), Taylor Graham and Spencer Graham; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Marquis and Adeline Marquis. Predeceased by her parents, her husband and her sister, she will be fondly remembered by her family and friends including her special friend, Dallas Jolly. Colleen was a devoted wife and mother who excelled in all of her family and domestic duties. Throughout her life, she had an inquiring mind and a love of learning which led to her having many varied interests and to involvement in organizations focused on social justice, environmental protection, nature appreciation, health, and museums/archives and other community projects and endeavours. Colleen moved to Red Deer from the farm thirty years ago and very much enjoyed her retirement there. The family would like to thank Dr. John McConnell, AHS Home Care, the Red Deer Hospital and Inglewood Optima for their compassionate care as Colleen’s health declined. A Celebration of Colleen’s Life will be held at the Red Deer Resort, 3310 – 50 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, June 19, 2026  at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Colleen’s honour may be made directly to the Lending Cupboard at www.lendingcupboard.ca or the United Way at www.unitedway.org.
