It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nelson Randolph Enghauge Nicholson, affectionately known as Nick. Nick was born and raised on the family farm in Dickson, Alberta, a place he cherished and kept in the family for over 100 years, despite facing many challenges.
Nick was a pillar of strength and determination, qualities that saw him through tough times and helped him maintain the family legacy. Nick’s generosity knew no bounds. He was beloved in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His home was a place of warmth and welcome for family, friends, and strangers alike.
A true man of the land, Nick was not only a dedicated farmer but also a skilled logger, heavy equipment operator, and mechanic. He took great pride in passing his extensive knowledge to his sons.
Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Doreen of nearly sixty-seven memorable years and by
his son Randy, and his children Tanner (Sam Macklon), and their daughter, Nova; Lane (Kate) and their
children, Georgia, Presley and Saratilly:
his son Alvin, and his children Tyler and his daughters, Liliya and Arrianna; Melissa and her daughter,
Ruby and his son Josh:
his daughter Wendy Livingston and her children Daniel (Peggy Howard) and their daughter, Adeline,
Kristen and her son Jaxson:
his daughter Laurel (Doug) Reid, and their children, Adam (Kayla), and their children Brooklynn and
Clara, Tracy (Letasha) Reid and their children, Maverick and Ronan, Meagan Cutler (Trevor) and their
children Ainsley and Kai.
Nick was predeceased by his son Tracy in 1979.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Nick’s honor to the Dickson Museum or Dickson Bethany Lutheran Church which are both dear to his heart.
Nick’s unwavering spirit, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
