June Elizabeth Allen (Crocker) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 96 years, five days after celebrating her 96th birthday. Born on June 1, 1930, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, June lived a life defined by love, dedication, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
June married the love of her life, Roger Gregory Allen on March 13, 1953, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. As a devoted military wife, June proudly supported Roger throughout his service career. Together they embraced the adventures and challenges of military life, making homes in Greenwood, Nova Scotia; Baden-Baden, Germany; and later returning to Greenwood before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Trenton, Ontario. Following Roger’s retirement, June and Roger settled in Red Deer, Alberta, where they enjoyed being close to their children and family. June’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Gregory Jed Allen (Trudy), and her daughter, Susan Dawn Allen (Gord Ross). She was a proud grandmother to William Allen and Kelsey Allen (Colin Ross), and a cherished great-grandmother to Alexa, Ashton, Liam, Alicia, Hailey, Katie, Cassie, and Geoffrey. A dedicated homemaker, June poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home wherever life took her. She enjoyed playing bridge at the Red Deer Bridge Club and continued crocheting and quilting well into her 96th year. Her handmade quilts were treasured gifts of love, and each of her grandchildren received a quilt lovingly crafted especially for them—a lasting expression of her care, generosity, and remarkable talent. June was also a dedicated volunteer who generously gave her time to others. For many years, she served at the Salvation Army thrift store and soup kitchen, finding great fulfillment in helping those in need and supporting her community. June will be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, and gentle nature. She was a wonderful neighbour, a loyal friend, and someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. June was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Gregory Allen; her parents, Jedidiah Crocker and Mary Violet Lent; and her siblings, Alice Cooke, Richard Crocker (Dot), and Grayson Crocker. In keeping with June’s wishes, no service will be held. She will be laid to rest in the family plot in Nova Scotia.
