It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Edna ‘Irene’ Donald of Red Deer, Alberta,
after a decade long battle with dementia, at Villa Marie, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, April 5, 2021 at
the age of 92 years. Irene was born on January 12, 1929 in High River, Alberta. She was the only
daughter born to Lyman and Ida Humphrey. Irene will be remembered as a hard working and protective
mother. She had a generous heart, a wonderful sense of humour and was loved by all that knew her.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doug (Tammy) Donald of Red Deer, Alberta and
Sheri Wilkie of Edmonton, Alberta; her grandchildren, Nick (Taryn), Chelsea (Jonathan), Caitlin and
Cheyanne; and her great grandson, Brucie. Irene will also be sadly missed by her brother, Floyd
Humphrey of Stony Plain, Alberta; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Irene was
predeceased by her parents, Lyman and Ida Humphrey and her brothers, Bill, Clarence and Bert. Irene’s
family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the caregivers at Cottage 1, Villa Marie for their
wonderful care and compassion during her stay. A Private Family Service will be held. For those unable
