TROFIMUK, Caroline
1929 ~ 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Caroline “Carol” Trofimuk (née Beitel), who left this world to be with her Lord on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 97 years. Born on January 1, 1929, in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan, Carol was the youngest of eight children. Raised on the farm, Mom learned the importance of family and hard work, but also to laugh and have fun. When the family moved to Penticton, British Columbia, Mom loved to attend dances with friends, where she eventually met Nick, whom she married in Canmore on August 26, 1950. They shared fifty-three happy years together.
Carol and Nick spent many years dancing away the Winters in Yuma, Arizona. Mom enjoyed making new friends and living the snowbird life. She had several jobs chambermaiding and working at Parks Canada but was happiest babysitting her grandchildren. She was an avid curler, enjoyed cross-country skiing, golfing at the Canmore Golf Club, and making crafts of any kind. As she continued to lose her vision and hearing, she still maintained her independence and loved to play cards at every opportunity. Having fun and laughing was a huge part of her life, and her greatest joy was having a visit from family. We take comfort in knowing Mom is at peace and her memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Lea Anne (Cal); daughter-in-law, Wendy; grandchildren, Courtney (Brian), Vanessa (Shannon), Robyn (Greg), Amy (Jason), Ranae, Randi, Andrew (Caitlin), and Sean (Ye); and nine great grandchildren. She rejoins her beloved husband, Nicholas; daughter, Wendy; son, Tim; and her seven siblings.
Our profound gratitude to Dr. Rautenbach, and to the wonderful caregivers at Timberstone Mews who acted as her second family. They always made her feel special and treated her with dignity. I know my Mom received the best care possible. A Celebration of Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
