Hugh John Robinson
1929 – 2026

Hugh John Robinson of Olds, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the age of 96 years.
Hugh was born in Lamont, Alberta, in 1929. He dedicated much of his life to education, teaching at Ecole Olds Elementary School and serving as Vice Principal from 1967 to 1985. Hugh was deeply committed to his students and community, leaving a lasting impact on generations of families in Olds. He was a proud and active member of the Olds Kiwanis Club and the Masons Lodge. In his retirement, Hugh continued to serve his community as a member of the Library Board and the School Board. On December 27, 1958, Hugh married the love of his life, Kathryn Evelyn Mitchel. Together they raised three sons: Jonathon, Robert, and Russell. Hugh was predeceased by his beloved wife Kay and his son Jonathon. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Robert (Teresa) and Russell; his grandchildren Christy and Kara, his two great-grandchildren; his sister and sister-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Olds, Alberta on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.  Hugh will be remembered for his dedication to education, his commitment to community service, and his steady presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
