HULSHOF, Lute

1928 ~ 2025

Mr. Lute Hulshof, age 96, passed away peacefully, on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Sundre Foothills Lodge in Sundre, Alberta. He was the oldest of three boys, born on November 26th, 1928 in Anloo Drenthe, Holland, to Jan and Hendrikje Hulshof. In 1952 he and his beloved wife Johanna made the courageous journey to Canada with their two young children. Together they welcomed four more children, building a full and loving family.

After Johanna’s passing in 1986, Lute was blessed to find love again and married Yvonne in 1988. Family remained the heart of his world. He leaves his wife of 37 years, Yvonne, a brother, Henk (Siny) in Holland, daughter Henny, (Harold), Henri, Terri (Brian), John (Linda), Ed (Mary) and Garry (Stephanie) as well as his step children, Richard (Lynn), Diane (Mohamed), Maurice, Ron, and Jerry as well as many family members in Holland He was also a grandfather to seven, great-grandfather to eight, and great-great-grandfather to three.

Lute was happiest when surround by family and friends. He cherished a good visit and a shot of whiskey and ginger ale. He never missed the chance to share a laugh. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and love of togetherness.

In keeping with his wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
