Mr. Elso Romanzin of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2022 at the age of 94 years. Elso was born and raised in Nordegg, Alberta. From an early age, he was an avid horseman and would spend countless hours riding his favorite horse, Ginger. Elso moved to Red Deer in 1950 to begin his career in construction, which included building the Red Deer Post Office, Lacombe Police Station, and the expansion of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, where he met Marion Steeves, an O.R. Nurse. They were married in April of 1954. Elso was a skilled and artistic craftsman, who could build anything from toys, to furniture and cabinets, to ornate metal work. If he needed something and didn’t have it, he would build it. Elso will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Heather (Russel) of Powell River, British Colombia, Sandra (Dale) of Stettler, Alberta, Janice of St. Albert, his son, Larry (Danielle) of Red Deer, Alberta, his grandchildren, Tracy (Darla), Teresa (Jesse), Erin, Evan and Wyatt, and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Shelby and Zander. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Mary (Ed) of Ontario. Elso was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Marion, his brother, Nilo and his two sisters, Rose and Wilma. Elso’s family is respecting his wishes of having a Private Celebration of Life. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, if desired, Memorial Donations, in Elso’s honor may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
