Araceli (Cely) Camacho Iliscupidez “Nanay”
September 6, 1928 – September 26, 2022
Araceli (Nanay) Iliscupidez passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 94 years. She spent her years spreading love to those around her and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her relentless passion to care for family, friends, and community was her greatest source of joy and purpose in life. Born September 6, 1928, in Baliuag, Bulacan, Philippines, she was the second eldest of nine children. A beautiful and fun-loving lady, she had many interests including music, dancing, singing, cooking, perfume, and jewelry. However, the most important thing in her life was her family. From the age of sixteen, she worked diligently to provide for her family and those in the community less fortunate. After moving out, she got married and settled down in Dagupan City, Pangasinan to start a family and fulfill her dreams of becoming a very successful businesswoman. Becoming a single parent, she lovingly raised ten children and worked to ensure they were taken care of, and provided with every opportunity for success. In 1991, Nanay immigrated to Canada to continue building a better life for her family, where she helped raise and care for her fifteen grandchildren who have also provided her with nine wonderful great grandchildren and counting. As the matriarch, back-bone, and glue of the family, she organized weekly gatherings, which kept the family tightly knit. Those that knew Nanay often described her as a generous, loving, selfless, and resilient woman. She was an incredible sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Nanay will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Luz (Vino♰), Henry (Marilyn), Eva (Arthur), Louie (Angelita), Liz (Calvin), Jerry (Marissa), Amy (Reggie), Bobby (Mary-Ann), Jermy, and Jun; her grandchildren, Glenn, Kristine (Pat), Jon (Bianca), Hazel (Michael), Marc (Kam), Arvin (Kathleen), Arwyn (Nikki), Anna (Connor), Karyn (Kieran), Lexyn, Jesse (Natasha), Jourdan (Daniel), Jachin, Bryan, and Bryce♰; her great grandchildren, Evan, George, Kaia, Tristan, Carter, Kaleb, Emmett, Penelope, and Genevieve. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Marita (Emil), and Linda (Gabriel), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
