It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Maisie Ramshaw at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the age of 95 years. Maisie was born on a farm in Tawatinaw, Alberta on December 25, 1927. It was there that she started a lifelong love of horses. Starting with farm work, she worked at several jobs before becoming a hairdresser. Maisie was strong willed and outgoing and had many adventures in her life. She loved to travel and made friends wherever she went. Maisie was very involved in the Legion, the United Church, Curling and the Oil Wives in Lodgepole, Drayton Valley and Edmonton, Alberta. Maisie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather (Harold) Hopp; her grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Machan, Ryan Hopp, and Chris (Kristen) Hopp, as well as her great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Ramshaw. A Memorial Reception Celebrating Maisie’s Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Please join us as we gather to share stories, memories and enjoy a light lunch together.
