Mrs. Carol Elaine Cannon (nee Woods) passed away peacefully, in Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, December 24, 2021 at the age of 94 years. Carol grew up in Lacombe, Alberta, the daughter of Tom and Clemence Woods. She was a talented quilter, bird watcher, a sports fan (especially tennis, hockey and curling), a lover of music, a Royal Family follower, an avid reader and a gardener. Carol was a fantastic cook, who knew her way around the kitchen. She was known to bake a “mean” Apple Pie. Carol will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gordon and Michael (Carol), her daughter, Sandra Murphy (Harold), her sister, Joan, her brother, Lorne (Patsy), her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friends, the Sweiger family. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Glen ‘Gibb’ Cannon and her youngest son, Douglas (Lisa). A Graveside Service will be held in Lacombe, Alberta in the spring of 2022.
