Mr. Kenneth ‘Ken’ Gordon Drage, beloved husband of Christine, passed away peacefully at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 96 years. Ken was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on December 14, 1925. In 1933, as a young child of eight years old, he was adopted by Walter and Florence Wells of Penhold, Alberta, and was raised, and lived in the Red Deer area. As a robust young man, he worked on the Wells family farm at Antler Hill and also for the Campbell family farm at the Penhold Bridge, as well as many years with Imperial Lumber; and then finally, the City of Red Deer, where he was well known as a hard worker, very dependable and a happy persona. Ken was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, and there he met the love of his life, Christine. They married in 1985. They loved nothing better than to meet friends, and dance until dawn. They enjoyed many years of travel and companionship, many who knew them suggested they were truly the kindest couple in the world, with total devotion to each other. Later in life, as time marched on, Ken and Christine relocated to Extendicare, Michener Hill, where the staff were so kind and helpful in his last years. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man with a ready smile, helping hand, and as a willing dance partner. Ken will be deeply missed by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Christine; his stepchildren, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Florence Wells; his sister, Donna (nee Wells) MacKay; his brother-in-law, Danny ‘Donald’ MacKay and his cherished niece, Toni Lynn (nee MacKay) Wallner. A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer.
