Hugh Brown, 95 years young, passed away at home on December 23, 2020 in Red Deer, Alberta. Born in Stavely Alberta, after High School he joined the Royal Canadian Airforce and spent his time in eastern Canada in communications. Upon returning from service he farmed in Drumheller, started a commercial business in Calgary and then after moving to Westerose, Alberta farmed for over 55 years. After retiring Hugh and his wife of 73 years, Connie, moved to Red Deer. Hugh led an active life enjoying farming, nature, and his horses. He was involved in toastmasters, loved dancing at the Legion, and developed a great interest in the stock market. Hugh is survived by his loving wife Connie and six children, Dennis, Judy, Linell, Rilda, Mark and David and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his ten siblings and son Jon. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. We will miss him, his twinkly eyes, often mischievous smile, and his love of massive bowls of ice cream. If desired, a donation can be made to Deaf and Hear Alberta (directly or through CanadaHelps) or plant a tree in his honour. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
