It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Helen Hoszouski (nee Forbes). Helen went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at the age of 100 years. She was born the fifth of eleven siblings on the family homestead near Maple Creek in Southwest Saskatchewan to her parents, Allan and Bertha Forbes. Helen was an accomplished seamstress and author, enjoyed reading and as her friends can testify, she was a whiz at playing cards and in her quiet contemplative way was hard to beat.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Ronald Hoszouski, Dale (Susan) Hoszouski, Gerald Hoszouski, her daughter, Joy (Dean) Arkinstall, her twelve grandchildren, her twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Helen is also deeply missed by her siblings, Elmer Forbes, David Forbes, Betty Hok, her foster children, Daryl, Eldon and Lori Hill and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Anton ‘Tony’ Hoszouski, her brothers, Harry ‘Soddie’, Leonard, Ralph and Kenneth Forbes, her sisters, Agnes Oddan, Elsie Oddan, Ella Sutton and her daughter-in-law, Shirley Hoszouski (Gerald).
The family would like to thank the care team and residents of Deer Park Village for the heartwarming kindness, support, love and friendship that Helen knew while residing in Red Deer, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Services Chapel, 4415 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects at a Public Visitation before the Service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Please keep in mind that the family has asked that this is a scent free Service.
