Mrs. Isabelle Mary Roberts passed away at Innisfail, Alberta on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the age of 101 years. Isabelle was born on April 12, 1923 at Finns Lake, Alberta to loving parents Marvin and Bella Solverson. She went to school in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and later married Donald Roberts, who was training with the Royal Air Force at the Suffield Base. Isabelle then moved to England as a war bride and later returned to Canada in the 1950’s and began taking nursing training in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Innisfail, Alberta to work at the Innisfail Hospital. She became the nurse receptionist at the Medical Clinic where she worked until retiring, then moved back to England for a few years. Isabelle returned to Innisfail in the early 2000’s so she could be with family and friends. She was always active in the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Anglican Church. Isabelle did lovely needlework and knitted beautiful sweaters. She was also very musical and played guitar and was always an avid reader and loved to travel. Isabelle will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Mountain (Paul), her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as a host of friends in England and here at home. She was predeceased by her parents Marvin and Bella Solverson, her brother, Jim, and sister, Betty, and her sons, Jim, Wayne, and Marty. A Celebration of Isabelle’s Life was held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 4915 – 52 Street, Innisfail, Alberta. A Reception will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 104, 5108 – 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta.
