Mrs. Marion Davison passed away peacefully in Rosefield Extended Care Centre in Innisfail, Ab on June 24, 2024. She was born November 25, 1922, in Winnipeg, Manitoba to her parents Samuel Julia Melnyk. She is survived by her son Nes Davison (LaVera) of High River, Alberta, her sisters, Anne Mickasiw of Sudbury, Ontario and Margaret Michaluk of Pocatello, Idaho, her granddaughters Laurie Anne Evanation (Todd) of Innisfail, Alberta, Colleen Klassen of High River, Alberta, Karey Kutney (Curtis) of White Rock, British Columbia, Nancy Stephenson (Dennis) of Montrose, British Columbia, her grandson, Jamie Evanation (Sue) of Gull Lake, Alberta, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Alfred Davison, son Lori (Lawrence) Evanation, brothers, Michael and Joseph Melnyk and sister Victoria Strelic.
Marion fulfilled a variety of roles in her lifetime over and above being a wife and mother. Hotel housemaid, laundry delivery person, school bus driver, grocery cashier and meat market clerk. One of her latter favorites was sales representative at Ben Moss Jewelers where she excelled in sales, mostly because of her aggressive attitude that other clerks grimaced at whereas the rest of us just laughed and applauded as she racked up the sales, often becoming the #1 salesperson in Calgary. She shone at acting as campground host at Red Lodge Provincial Park. Again, outdoing everyone else in client satisfaction because she cared enough to push her way in to ensure the customer was always satisfied. Lastly, but certainly not least, she was a volunteer at the Innisfail Legion selling tickets and assisting in the weekly horse races, meat draws and other social events. She amazingly carried out these ‘duties’ in her upbeat spiffy classy manner well into her senior years, using it as an excuse to dress up, don her jewelry and strut about to the immense enjoyment of all patrons and staff alike. Now we have to wonder who she is pinching all of her great perogy’s for up there? I’m sure the Angels will be well fed. Needless to say, her loving kindness, infectious smiles and laughter at the silliest of things will be dearly missed by family and by everyone who had the pleasure of associating with the one and only “Marion Davison”.
