Mrs. Cecilia Komperdo of Rocky Mountain House, formerly of Caroline, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Clearwater Centre on July 3, 2023 at the age of 102 years. Cecilia was born to Elizabeth and Richard Armstrong on April 14, 1921 at Keeler, Saskatchewan. As a young lady, Cecilia joined the Armed Forces in Moose Jaw, and was later stationed in Chilliwack, British Columbia. It was there that she met her future husband. She was united in marriage with our father, John Komperdo. After being discharged from the service, Cecilia and John took up residence in Blairmore, Alberta, where he worked as a coal miner. They were blessed with a daughter Geraldine ‘Jeri’. They later moved to Heisler, Alberta where a second daughter, Joan was born. Some years later, the family moved to Killam, Alberta, where they built and operated a movie theatre with John’s brothers, it was there that their third daughter, Carol was born. Cecilia is lovingly remembered by her daughters Joan (Mike) Zezel and Carol (Jack) Dezall as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cecilia was predeceased by her husband, John and their beloved daughter, Jeri.
