It is with great sadness we announce the passing of mom, Ruth Zimmerman on October 3, 2022 at the age of 102 years. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Ruth was born on November 12, 1919 in Schuller, Alberta . She moved to the family farm east of Olds. She met the love of her life Edward Zimmermann and they married in 1938. They had 2 girls Jackie Espersen, Sharon Dunn and 1 son Keith (Pam). They moved to Olds and then in 1943 they moved to farm until dad retired. After Edward’s passing, Ruth moved to Mount View Lodge in 2006 and then again to the new Lodge in 2011. Ruth leaves behind her 2 daughters Jackie and Sharon and her son Keith; 5 grandchildren Corrine Ferguson (Ferg), Erik (Karen) Espersen, Cory (Jennifer) Dunn, Tamara Radau (Jason), Calvin Zimmerman (Lindsey); 12 great grandchildren; 7 great- great grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Edward in 2005; her 10 siblings and Edward’s 12 siblings. Ruth enjoyed crochet, knitting and made many afghans that she would donate to the Tuck Shop at the Olds Hospital where she volunteered. She was a wonderful mother and loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother. She will be missed by all.
