World Refugee Day is June 20.

Events and activities are happening throughout the day around Red Deer?

The Hub on Ross – 4936 50 Street

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Drop-in art activities including clay art, drawing and painting

1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. – Drumming

Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery – 4525 47A Avenue

1 p.m. – Screening of National Film Board films ’19 Days’ and ‘Everybody’s Children’

Festival Hall – 4214 58 Street

4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. – Local speaker and panel discussion

6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Community dinner and performance by local refugee children’s group – MS Priceless Brains

All events are FREE and open to the public.

World Refugee Day in Red Deer is put together by Central Alberta Refugee Effort in conjunction with Catholic Social Services, Central Alberta Immigrant Women’s Association. Cultural Heritage Society, Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery, the HUB on Ross, Red Deer Local Immigration Partnership, and Lacombe Community Refugee Effort.
