Bobocel out as Chamber CEO

Sep 10, 2018 | 5:12 PM

The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce and its CEO have parted ways.

The Chamber announced late Monday afternoon that Robin Bobocel has left his role of CEO, effective immediately.

No reason was given for Bobocel’s sudden departure.

“We want to thank Mr. Bobocel for his work serving the Chamber, the role he played in signing the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer and wish him the best in his future endeavours,” said Chamber President John MacKenzie in an email to members.

“The Board is undertaking the steps necessary to appoint a new CEO and is excited about the future of the Chamber as we pursue a change in direction under fresh leadership. In the meantime, the team at the Chamber continues to fulfill their duties as well as working alongside with Westerner Park as we prepare to host the Canadian Finals Rodeo and Agri-Trade.”

Bobocel took over as Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce CEO on July 4, 2017. His previous experience includes time as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Innovation and Advanced Education, as well as positions with the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and Concrete Alberta.
