Prolific offender nabbed by Drayton Valley RCMP

Drayton Valley RCMP have a prolific offender in custody after a lengthy police chase.

Police said it all started on July 23 at approximately 9:30 p.m. when they received a tip of a wanted male spotted on a stolen side by side.

The caller provided information on which way the side by side was traveling, with it eventually entering a bush area where it became stuck and the male suspect fleeing on foot.

The RCMP Police Dog Services were called in to help track the suspect over three and a half kilometres through bush and spots of the North Saskatchewan River.  

Mounties eventually located and arrested 27-year-old James Roblin on outstanding warrants out of Drayton Valley and Banff.

Roblin was also slapped with a string of new charges, including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
