Michael Edward Treherne
February 11, 1960 – September 28, 2026
Michael passed peacefully in Lacombe, Alberta at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Quebec, Michael was the youngest of Walter and Mary Treherne’s seven children. Naturally athletic he loved playing hockey and could easily participate in every sport. As a long-haul truck driver, the open road and freedom was his calling, and he covered most of Canada and the United States. Michael has lived in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and finally settling in Alberta. He loved NASCAR. He also had a passion for driving big shiny trucks (semis), and fast cars.
Michael always seemed to have a story. He could tell you basically anything about anyone beginning with “This one time…” He was quick-witted with a sharp sense of humour. He could make you laugh when you least expect it.
Mike will be remembered for who he was; adventurous, opinionated, funny and always being 100 percent himself. He left an impression on the people around him. His stories will always stay with us.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Mary and Walter Treherne. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his son, Sean Treherne; his two daughters, Lacey Treherne and Madison Treherne; his brothers Bob and Brian; and his sisters, Susan, Maureen, Georgina and Judy.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local food bank or the Red Deer food bank.
Condolences to Michael’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Michael Treherne” in the subject line.
