The Red Deer Rebels scored first, but the Prince Albert Raiders notched four unanswered goals on Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Rebels goaltender Matthew Kondo made 34 saves on 37 shots, but Raiders forward Ben Harvey scored twice to defeat Red Deer 4-1 in Saskatchewan.

Forward Cameron Kuzma scored the Rebels’ only goal of the evening while driving to the net on the offensive rush just 2:23 into the game. Cole Temple and Poul Andersen earned the assists.

The Rebels struggled in the second period, and the Raiders scored twice to take the lead.

The first came near the midway point of the period; Raiders forward Ben Harvey scored to tie the game, assisted by Jonah Sivertson.

Harvey then potted his second of the game with less than four minutes left to take a 2-1 lead.

In the third period, the Raiders put the game out of reach with a goal from Brandon Gorzynski within the final 10 minutes, followed by an empty-netter from Alisher Sarkenov.

The Raiders ultimately outshot the Rebels 38-26.

In special teams play, both squads failed to score on the power play, with Red Deer finishing 0-for-2 and Prince Albert 0-for-4.

Next up, the Rebels will head to Saskatoon to take on the Blades on Friday night before facing the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday at 6 p.m.
