It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orval Sept on Friday, September 11, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his family, siblings, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Orval was quite the guy—a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He was also a man who was very much set in his ways, and those who knew him best wouldn’t have had him any other way. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a way of making people laugh, often when they least expected it. Orval loved animals, watching sports, bowling, fishing with his son-in-law, and spending time with his family. He cherished family trips to the mountains with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law, as well as spending time with his friend Mike at his rural property, enjoying the outdoors and good company. He loved the oldies and could often be found ‘groovin’ in the kitchen to his favourite songs. He also had countless stories to tell from his years in the oil industry to the wild adventures of his childhood. He loved sharing those stories, sometimes more than once, and they will be remembered with laughter and a smile. Orval’s kindness, humour, stubborn spirit, stories, and big heart will be missed every day by those who were lucky enough to know him. He was truly one of a kind and leaves behind many cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Orval’s memory to the Palliative Unit of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation at https://form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/red-deer-regional-health-foundation/memorial-giving or Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society at
