Town of Blackfalds to host annual Community Info Expo

Sep 11, 2026 | 8:35 PM

The Town of Blackfalds is set to host its annual Community Info Expo on Monday, Sept. 14.

The purpose of the event each year is to introduce community members to organizations, in town and throughout local communities and their services.

The Expo is set for 6 p.m. at the Blackfalds Community Centre and is free to attend.

According to the town, this year’s event will feature 39 organizations and community groups, which is the most they’ve ever had.

“The Info Expo is especially great for new residents, families with children or youth, or those who are wanting to get involved with their community. There are so many local organizations that will all be in one spot, making learning about the various services offered in the community simple,” said FCSS Manager Wendy Griffin, in a media release.

The Town of Blackfalds departments will also be in attendance alongside Family and Community Support Services, which will showcase upcoming youth and seniors programming, support services, and volunteer opportunities.

In addition, the Abbey Centre will share information about its fitness, youth, and seniors programs; the Blackfalds Fire Department will display its equipment; and members of town council will be available to discuss the 2027 budget.

“I encourage residents and businesses to come out to the Info Expo and see all that Blackfalds has to offer. It is a great opportunity to learn about the many programs, services, and organizations that help make our community such a great place to live,” added Mayor Laura Svab. “With food trucks on site, you can grab supper and enjoy an evening connecting with friends, neighbours, and local groups. Members of council will be there as well, and we look forward to meeting residents, hearing your ideas, and having meaningful conversations about our community.”
