As a result, the driver, a 29-year-old female from Red Deer, was arrested and charged with impaired driving. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and 30-day vehicle impoundment.

The driver was also arrested and released on conditions pending Crown approval for charges including operation of a conveyance while impaired, operation while impaired over 80 mg of alcohol, mischief over $5,000, and failure to stop after accident.

Police say the driver cannot be named until the charges are sworn. She was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Oct. 9, 2026.

In addition, that same evening, the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRT) identified a second impaired driver downtown at 10:42 p.m.

As a result, a 32-year-old from Red Deer was arrested on outstanding warrants including the following:

• Operation of a conveyance while impaired,
• Operation of a conveyance while impaired over 80mg of alcohol,
• Driving an uninsured motor vehicle,
• Operate motor vehicle without registration.

The individual is set to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Sept. 9, 2026.
