Joseph William "Bill" Rienguette

December 11, 1956 – August 21, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of Joseph William Rienguette, affectionately known as “Bill,” announces his peaceful passing on August 21, 2026, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Bill spent the first half of his life working in water and sewer construction—he never minded getting his hands dirty. In 1996, he moved to Red Deer, Alberta, to pursue a career in the oilfield, where he rose to become a Drilling Consultant and successfully partnered with his brother in an oilfield trucking and rental company. Bill loved his kids deeply and was incredibly proud that his son followed in his footsteps from the oilfield to construction, swapping many stories along the way.

Bill was a happy-go-lucky, loving, and fiercely loyal man who could always make you laugh. Known to many as “Buff,” he reserved the nickname “Bud” for his true friends, to whom he was loyal to the core. He worked hard and played hard, loving snowmobiling, playing pool, and golfing. He filled ordinary moments with joy, whether he was dancing down grocery store aisles or dressing up with his kids at Halloween. He leaves behind treasured family food traditions, like teaching his girls to make mushroom rice and always praising his daughter’s spaghetti sauce.

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Lynn, and his children, Matthew, Jamie, and his twin daughters in Ontario, Kristy (John Henri) and Kim (Derek Walsh). He will also be fondly remembered by Nicole Rienguette, cherished friend and mother of his daughters.

He was the proud grandfather of Sarah, Jayce, Trysten (Andrew Landriault), Kellan, Aydra, Hayden, and Zach; and cherished great-grandfather of Lawrence-Jacob (L.J.), Maeve, and Rosalie.

Bill leaves behind his mother, Grace; his sister, Linda Blaffert (Seig); and his brothers, Stan Rienguette and Neil Rienguette (Rose), along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence. Bill will be greatly missed by his closest friends Kenny, Gary, Daryl, Rod, Tim, Jack, and the whole gang at DDR.

We will forever miss his laughter, his generous heart, and his favorite saying: “Everything is Tickety Boo.”

An informal gathering to celebrate Bill’s life with family and friends will be held on Friday, September 4th. The place and time will be announced as soon as details are finalized.
