It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Audrey Head (née Lacell) at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 76 years.

Born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan, Audrey spent her early years in Edmonton before making lasting homes and friendships in communities throughout Alberta. She cherished the thirty-one years she spent in Fox Creek and the past eleven years in Olds, where she became deeply involved in the communities she called home.

Audrey’s greatest passion was sewing and quilting. She spent countless hours creating beautiful quilts, both at home and alongside others through the Auxiliary in Fox Creek and Threads of Kindness in Olds. Through her creativity, she gave far more than beautiful handiwork—she shared her time, kindness, and generous spirit with others.

Audrey will be remembered for her loving heart, devotion to family and friends, and wonderful zest for life. She treasured the simple moments, whether gathered around a campfire, trying her luck at the casino, enjoying a round of golf or curling, or simply spending time with those she loved. And those who knew Audrey will fondly remember her love of a good coffee with a splash of Baileys—a small pleasure she enjoyed whenever she could.

Audrey shared fifty-four wonderful years with her beloved husband, Gary. She was a devoted wife, loving mother to Terry (Sherri) and Jennifer (Doug), and a cherished grandmother to Chelsey, Taylor (Yusuke), Kiara (Noah), and Landyn. Her family was the centre of her world, and she surrounded them with endless love, encouragement, and support.

She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Weeks, and stepfather, Art Weeks.

Audrey leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. She was deeply loved, will be forever missed, and will always hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Audrey’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, 5241 – 46 Street, Olds, Alberta on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
