Allan Dale Baker of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, at the age of 71 years. Allan was born to Dorothy and Clarence Baker July 19, 1954, at Calgary, Alberta. He was a proud father and grandfather who treasured his family above all. He lived in Calgary for most of his life, only recently making the move to Blackfalds, Alberta with his daughter and son-in-law. He will be lovingly remembered as “Uncle Al,” a name that reflected the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Allan leaves behind his friend and former spouse, Marilyn Baker; his sons, Dale Baker (Stephanie) of Calgary, Alberta and Brad Baker (Keri) of Sherwood Park, Alberta; and his daughter, Sabrina Baker (Keith Bouzane) of Blackfalds, Alberta. He was a cherished grandfather to his five grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria, Everett, Sebastian, and Kale, who brought him great joy and held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his brother, Rod Baker (Kathy) of Calgary, Alberta; and his sisters, Phylis Slater of Burnaby, British Columbia and Diane Sadownick of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Allan was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Baker, his father, Clarence Baker, and his brother in-laws; Boris Sadownick, and Bill Slater. Allan had a wonderful sense of humour and a warm, memorable personality. He loved movies and television, especially science fiction, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. A skilled carpenter, Allan took pride in his work and in the things, he was able to create with his own hands. Above all, Allan will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the memories he created with those around him, and the unique and lasting impression he left on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, Allan’s memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
