Mrs. Gladys Elsner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away at Sunset Manor, Innisfail, Alberta on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the age of 97 years. She passed quietly in her sleep.

Gladys was born in Cheadle, Alberta on March 26, 1929 to Wallace and Lillian Demers. Growing up on the farm, led to her becoming a farmer’s wife when she married Lawrence Elsner in 1949. Lawrence and Gladys raised their four children on the farm in the Lake Bend area before moving to Bashaw in 1974. Lawrence passed away in 1980 and Gladys continued to live in Bashaw until moving into the Mountain View Lodge in Olds in 2019 and finally moving to Sunset Manor in 2024.

Gladys will be remembered by her children, Lynn (Mel) Hagen, Wayne (Carrole) Elsner, Jack (Cindy) Elsner and Lori (Ben) Hopkins, twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

A Funeral was held for Gladys at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel in Olds, Alberta on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was also held at the Mirror Cemetery, where she will join her beloved Lawrence.
