Brian Everette Offet of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice Society in Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 71 years. Brian’s children were his whole world, and later so were his grandchildren. He was extremely proud of each and everyone of them. Brian was surrounded by a tight knit group of people, to which he referred to as “friends who are our family we got to choose”. Brian was a man with a big heart and a lot of compassion but also believed that you had to work hard for the things you get in this world, and Brian stayed true to this belief himself his entire life. He was a man who protected his family and was loyal to a fault, but Brian never harbored fools or laziness. Brian always had a brilliant mind and enjoyed teaching his life’s worth of knowledge, as long as you were willing to listen and learn from him. His friends often referred to him with the nickname “The Professor”. Apart from his earnest side, Brian had a quick (sometimes maybe even a little bit dark) wit to him. Brian loved history, reading and movies throughout his life, but the best movies were always the ones he watched with his children. Aside from his family, Brian always had a passion for classic cars, whether it was building and restoring them, racing them or even just discussing them, classic cars were always something he knew he was fascinated by. Music played a big role in Brian’s life as it was everywhere, he would constantly play music everywhere he went, whether it was at home, in the car, on a walk and especially during social gatherings spent with family and friends. The music followed Brian everywhere he went, all the way up until his last breath with Led Zeppelins’ “Stairway to Heaven” accompanying him. He was cherished beyond words by his loving wife Leslie, He was her greatest blessing, her favorite chapter, and the home her heart will always return to, forever carrying Brian in every heartbeat until they are reunited once again for eternity to begin their next journey. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Leslie Offet; his son Michel Offet of Regina, Saskatchewan, and his children Atticus, Elyse, Sebastian and Harrison; his daughter Leeah (Chris) Matchett of Regina, Saskatchewan, and their child Jaya; his daughter Erin Offet (Bryan Garret) of Wainwright, Alberta, and their children, Axel and Rozlyn; his daughter Theresa Grocholski of Red Deer, Alberta, and her daughter Aeris; his uncle, Lyle Offet of Medicine Hat, Alberta whom Brian loved and cherished; as well as many family and dear friends. Brian is predeceased by his parents, Norma and Everette Offet. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the Red Deer Hospice Society for all the care and compassion given to Brian during his time with them, as well as his doctors, Dr. T. Mullen, Dr. Heathcoat and Dr. T. Williams for all the years of care, it is greatly appreciated.
