Leona Schielke beloved wife of Harold Schielke, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 14, 2026 at the Bethany in Didsbury at the age of 96 years. She was born to Ferdinand and Mary Hoffman on December 9, 1929. Leona met Harold at a church function, they became engaged on her birthday, and they married on April 24, 1954 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Claresholm Alberta. Following their marriage, Leona and Harold farmed with the Schielke family until retiring and moving to Carstairs in 1981. In 2016 Leona and Harold moved to the Crossfield Lodge where they resided for almost six years. Leona is survived by her children: Steve (Denyse), Stan (Sharon), Karen (Harry) and Sidney (Lorraine), five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her brother Lorne Hoffman (Marion), and numerous nieces and nephews. Leona was predeceased by her loving husband Harold in 2022, and by her sisters Ardella and Irene, and their spouses. Leona will always be remembered for her kindness, gentleness, unwavering Christian faith, and her love for family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.
