It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wade Landon Ackerman on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 45 years. Born on April 3, 1981, in Red Deer, Alberta, Wade grew into a devoted husband, proud father, and steadfast friend whose quiet strength and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
A welder by trade, Wade brought skill, precision, and pride to his work. His true passion, however, was carpentry. Whether framing a cabin, crafting a bed for someone he loved, or building custom cabinets, Wade’s hands and heart worked in tandem. He treasured the satisfaction of shaping wood into something useful and beautiful, and he shared that craft freely with family and friends.
Wade loved the simple, enduring joys of life: a round on the golf course, evenings by a crackling campfire, and time spent surrounded by the people and animals he cherished. He found companionship and comfort in his faithful dogs—Gunner, Tuff, Ruby, and Laney—and he delighted in any day that ended with laughter under an open sky.
Above all, Wade was a family man. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Lisa, and his children, Alexa and Aceson, his father David Ackerman, father in-law John Nylund, mother in-law, Shari (Kim) Cummins, sister Jayne Ackerman, sister in-law Tessa (Cody) McGillicky, brothers Lee (Jenna) Ackerman & Dusty (Tammy) Ackerman, brother in-law Glen Nylund, nephews Rylee, Justin, Talon, Roan, River, Myles & Deegan, nieces Amie, Montana, Raya, Hallie, Jenna, grandma Darlene Doyle and grandfather George Nylund
Along with Aunts, Uncles, cousins & friends who will carry forward his example of loyalty, hard work, and kindness. His memory will live on, in the projects he built, the lessons he taught, and the abiding love he leaves in the hearts of those closest to him.
Wade was predeceased by his mother Laurel Ackerman, brother Troy Ackerman, grandparents Morley & Olive Ackerman, Raymond & Delores McMullen & Wayne Doyle.
