Richard Wayne Boffey – a friend to many, left us on May 24, 2026 at the age of 77.

Those who knew Wayne will remember he always had time for a visit – especially when there was coffee, someone in need of help, or an open vehicle hood involved. Wayne had a wide network of friends, spanning from his early schoolhood days, work and family connections, and even made acquaintances in his travels to Europe, Mexico, Jamaica and Maui. Over the course of Wayne’s many careers, he always managed to have everything delivered on time, whether it was the crop, freight deliveries, gravel, or school kids- all while having a smile on his face and a friendly hello. During his retirement, he devoted his time to his family and friends, keeping up his acreage farm, and being a member of the Mountain View Pistons car club.

Wayne leaves behind his wife Cindy of 55 years, brother Albert Boffey, daughters Jennifer Machell (David), Dana Overwater (Dan), Serina Boffey (Shane), 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Wayne’s main priority was making sure his family was cared for, and always welcomed any new family through relationship or birth. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Richard and Albertine Boffey and his sister Ginny Bohme.

A Celebration of Life will be help on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Evergreens Hall in Olds.

The celebration will begin with Wayne’s final cruise with the Mountain View Pistons Car Club, departing from Evergreens Hall at 1:00 p.m. and returning for the Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m.

In Wayne’s style, casual attire is encouraged – Ball caps, T-shirts and Crocs are welcome.
