École Oriole Park administration earns high honours for commitment to French education

École Oriole Park’s acting principal is the recipient of an award for French Immersion Leader of the Year.

Giselle Ruest was announced as the award’s recipient in front of three classes at the school this week. The award comes from the Canadian Parents for French (Alberta Branch) and the Alberta French Language Education Consortium.

“To be recognized by an organization that has contributed so much to French-language education across Canada is truly an honour,” she said.

“What makes Red Deer Public’s French Immersion program so special is the people. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside exceptional educators who are passionate about student success. What I hold most dear are the families who have experienced the program firsthand and continue to choose French Immersion programs for their children.”
