It is with heavy hearts that the family of Nicholas ‘Nick’ Kennedy Jr. announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the age of 65 years. Nick was born on September 29, 1960 in Orillia, Ontario, the second of six children born to Nick Sr. and Marguerite Kennedy.

Growing up in a large family shaped the man he became; loyal, protective, and always ready to bring a smile to someone’s face, with an infectious laugh that was truly unforgettable. A true sports enthusiast, he could always be found cheering on his favorite teams. Nick enjoyed a remarkably successful career climbing the ladder from his early days as a stockboy at Woolco, to flying across the globe as a buyer for Walmart and eventually TJX Companies Canada and Australia. No matter how far his career took him, his love for his family always brought him home. Nick will be deeply missed but will remain in our hearts forever.

He will be lovingly remembered by his Life Partner, Jennifer and her children; Brad (Sarah), Chelsea (Dave), and grandchildren, Greydon and Princess Elle (who affectionally called him Patches), Alyssa (Devon), Mitchell (Sam), and his faithful companions Levi and Cooee. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Kathy (Bruce), his brothers, Blair, Paul (Lisa), Randy (Kelly), and Rick (Keith), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his parents Nick Sr. and Marguerite Kennedy.

A Celebration of Nick’s Life was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta.
