Two-year conditional sentence for man charged in Red Deer robberies

Jun 2, 2026 | 3:20 PM

A two-year conditional sentence has been given to a man charged in a string of gas station robberies in Red Deer last fall.

Keevyn Jesse Marston, 20, a resident of Innisfail, was sentenced in Red Deer Court of Justice on June 1, 2026, after being convicted on one count of theft under $5000. Counts of robbery and a second charge of theft under $5000, were withdrawn.

On Oct. 10, 2025, Red Deer RCMP laid charges against a man following a series of robberies on Oct. 3, 2025.

The incidents took place between 5 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. that day, when Mounties say three gas stations were targeted.

According to police, two of the incidents were ultimately deemed thefts because there was allegedly no violence involved, while the other involved a physical altercation.

RCMP say the incidents occurred at three different Co-op gas bars — one in Deer Park, one in Eastview, and another downtown.

“We ultimately obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence, executed it, and arrested a male. A search of the property revealed evidence linked to the robbery and two thefts,” said Cpl. Troy Savinkoff, Alberta RCMP, following the arrest.

The residence was located in Red Deer County, he added.

Keevyn Marston, of Innisfail, was originally charged with one count of robbery and two counts of theft under $5,000.

RCMP said no one was injured in any of the three incidents, and that some of the cash that was allegedly stolen had been retrieved.
