Mr. John Smith Valentine passed away at his home in Red Deer County on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the age of 71 years. John was born in Taber, Alberta, on October 26, 1954, to Stella and Martin Valentine, and eventually moved East of Red Deer. After college, he decided to start a painting company called VCP Painting, which is still operating today. John had a natural talent for woodworking and building. He had a lifelong love of hunting and fishing, and in later life, turned his focus to wildlife photography where he also excelled. John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Laurie; daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Nielsen; sons, Daniel and Joseph; and three grandchildren; Benjamin, Amber, and Eric; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. John rejoins his parents, Martin and Stella.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in honour of John may be sent to the Central Alberta Humane Society at https://cahumane.com/.
